I am writing this from the tropical paradise of Pangkor. It has been a total shit fight since we landed, so we breathed a big sigh of relief when we got to Pangkor this morning.
Our first night was spent in KL sharing a double bed in the worlds worst hotel.
The next day we were told that Penang was better than Pangkor (ITS NOT!) so we headed there. Our hearts sank as soon as we saw the island. First of all, its huge and full of high rise - not just high rise hotels, but office buildings and stuff, its like a city. We headed to Ferringhi beach which we were told was beautiful but it wasnt. There were heaps of Aussies around and I just wanted to shake them and say "WHAT ARE YOU DOING HERE!!" we were going to stay two nights but only stayed one. We spent the morning enjoying the swimming pools at the five star hotels before deciding to just vote ourselves off the island and go. Leaving early meant loosing a nights accomadation that we'd payed for but we didnt care.
God knows how many hours later we arrived in the port town of Lamut, of course we missed the last ferry to Pangkor by half an hour and had to spend the night in Lamut whree hardly anyone speaks english, but we arrived this morning and its gorgeous so alls well that ends well.
I'll be putting up pics when I get to London where hopefully the computers run a bit faster!
